Where'd that screwdriver come from? And is that a Doctor Who reference?

Yes, that is a Dr. Who reference. Particularly the 10th Doctor Who's episodes I've seen the most of.

The Screwdriver comes from the Mega Bloks Ninja Turtle sets. They had some decent accessories that I liked the look of and there are only two niche themes they've done that I've collected up. In the long haul, the vast majority of my plastic brick collection is LEGO.

Haha, I thought so. I have a couple of friends who are major Dr. Who fans. I'm more of a Star Wars guy myself, but I tried to get into it for a while. I only watched a few of the more recent episodes before I gave up in confusion, but at least I can catch a few of the references, now.

And I vaguely remember the Ninja Turtles sets, although I never got any myself. I agree that Mega Bloks has come out with some interesting accessories from the niche themes. Although, it's good to know that you're not one of those "half-breeds" who collects LEGO and Mega Bloks equally, and doesn't care about mixing them frivolously, even when the colors of the basic bricks don't match! That really gets to me, for some reason...

It's not half breed... it's

*time warp back to 2003* There I am going down the toy aisle and I see TMNT sets in the same aisle with LEGO and I'm all JOY! And then it's a screaming at the site of the Megabloks brand with two weeks later I came back and bought up all of the sets for my collection on the grounds of being a TMNT fan.

The other theme I've picked up was for Megabloks' Iron Man 2 sets, those I only picked up select sets from for a coolness look and the first formations of I might do a web comic. At the time, the Megabloks Iron Man minifig was far better than a custom and the prototype of the official Iron Man minifigure coming later this year looks too much like a bobble head. Depending on final verdict of the Marvel sets coming, I will probably keep certain Megablok sets around for set pieces and villain usage.

Ah, so you are, or were, a half-bre- I mean, limited collector of Mega Bloks...

I don't remember seeing any of the Iron Man 2 sets, I'll have to look those up and see what they look like. But Mega Bloks does seem quite useful for set pieces, especially their larger modular wall pieces.

Yes a limited collector and only because of my fandom for TMNT and Iron Man 2 looked cool enough at the time.

So when I do buy a brand other than LEGO they've got to have a very good coolness factor and then it's very limited.
