Due to a number of commentary (from editors, reader comments and BCN forums) regarding the last panel of the first week's comic, I made some alternations and changes to the script. Since it's early enough in the scripting and laying out comics, I felt I could pull in that small change. The hitch was I'd already made all the shots and taken down the set, so it was a matter of recycling pics and just mirroring them to extend out the script. Mainly where the Goblins are concerned.
Kudos to anyone who can actually understand and translate what the goblins are saying.
I thought for a moment too, I'd be delayed to the last moment with getting this strip laid out due to the last picture used. It's one of two pictures taken that were entirely way too dark. I was able to get photoshop to lighten this picture, plus make it look like light is coming down through tree branches.
As to the rest of the pics being dark, I plan to try and incorporate that as the nature of the Border Realms, having a dark, twilighty feel to them for spookiness.
And E... yes, Johnny & Mercy have that mysterious brick... I mean package to deliver to him.
I think picture recylcing is ok in general, as long as you do it cleverly. (Like in this comic; it's not too obvious.)
I don't expect to recycle any future photos. As experience tells me now to make sure I take even more shots then I thought or expected.
